About LaneHelp

Built for real-world decisions, not noisy data dumps.

LaneHelp is a public civic and social services platform for Eugene and Lane County. We organize resources around verifiable evidence, freshness, and clear action paths.

Receipts First

Resource and signal claims are expected to include source links, notes, or other evidence.

Verified Timestamps

Listings and signal items surface last-verified times so people can judge freshness quickly.

Action vs Noise

Local Signal separates actionable updates from low-value chatter using transparent scoring rules.

How Verification Works

1. Evidence collected

Submissions include links, provider confirmations, or call notes.

2. Recency tracked

Each listing stores a timestamp so stale info is visible immediately.

3. Community correction loop

Helpful, outdated, incorrect, and spam votes guide moderation.

Contribute

Community contributions help keep listings current and useful.

  • Submit a correction when a listing is wrong.
  • Confirm a listing after checking a source.
  • Suggest a new resource with at least one reliable source.

Scoring Transparency

Action lane eligibility is based on importance and BS scoring thresholds. In practical terms: high importance and a strong importance-minus-BS delta push an item into Action.

Moderators can override, review evidence, and tune scoring configuration as community conditions change.
